09:10 – 10:00: Nordic perspective on CoARA – keynote by Janne Pölönen (Federation of Finnish Learned Societies, Finland).
Nearly 800 organisations have signed the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment (ARRA) and almost 700 signatories have joined CoARA (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment). From the Nordic countries, 105 signatory organisations – including 90 CoARA members – share the CoARA vision that “assessment of research, researchers and research organisations recognises the diverse outputs, practices and activities that maximise the quality and impact of research“. This talk presents ARRA principles and commitments in the normative framework for responsible research assessment (RRA), explores the Nordic countries‘ engagement in CoARA (Action plans, National Chapters and Working Groups), and discusses some of the challenges and opportunities of the assessment reform from the Nordic perspective.
